The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, discussed today, Tuesday, with the new Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in the region, Christian Olfke, ways to develop relations and enhance mutual cooperation between the two sides.
Barzani affirmed the Kurdistan Region's readiness to provide the necessary support and facilities to ensure the success of the German consul's mission, while appreciating the continuous German support for the region, especially in facing ISIS and terrorism, in addition to political and humanitarian assistance.
For his part, Olfke expressed Germany's desire to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region and expand areas of cooperation, commending the role of the region's president at the level of Kurdistan and Iraq.
The meeting also witnessed discussions on the latest developments and updates in the region, as part of exchanging views on issues of mutual interest.
