The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers decided on Tuesday to relieve Alaa Abdul Hassan Ali from his duties as the head of the General Company for Ports of Iraq in the Ministry of Transport, at his request.
According to the document signed by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naeem Al-Ghazi, which was received by "Video News Agency," the decision was made based on the requirements of the public interest and with the approval of the Prime Minister in accordance with the powers granted to him, and subsequently by Diwani Order No. (49), communicated in our letter numbered (Q/5451/42/5/2), dated 28/7/2026.
The document also stated the appointment of Abdullah Aati Abdullah as the General Director of the General Company for Ports of Iraq in the Ministry of Transport.
The Minister of Transport, Wahab Salman Al-Husseini, had approved on Monday, June 22, a ministerial order appointing Alaa Abdul Hassan Ali Obeid to manage the affairs of the General Company for Ports of Iraq for a period of three months.
