The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of a suspect in the murder of the martyr Major Ahmed Ali and three members of the Diwaniya Criminal Investigation Department, during an intelligence operation carried out in Al-Muthanna Governorate.
The agency stated in a statement received by "Video News Agency" that "the operation was based on accurate intelligence information and was executed by detachments from the Falcon Intelligence Cell and Intelligence of the Rapid Response Division, noting that the suspect is wanted under Article 406/murder and is linked to other murder incidents in the governorate."
It added that "the detachments were able, during their investigations, to identify the location of the suspect's brother, who it indicated was a partner in the crime and is wanted under the same article, explaining that he fired at the forces while trying to arrest him, which prompted them to respond according to the rules of engagement."
It noted "the injury of the suspect and the seizure of his weapon, before he was transferred to the hospital, where he died from his injuries while receiving treatment."
The agency clarified that "the operation was carried out in Al-Muthanna after the suspects fled to it, confirming the continued pursuit of those wanted and their presentation to justice."
