Agriculture Minister Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari confirmed today, Tuesday, that it was agreed to pay farmers' dues gradually, at a rate of 500 billion dinars for each batch until they are fully completed. He also indicated discussions about the agricultural plan, the ministry's budget, and encroachments on agricultural land. Al-Shammari said in a press statement reviewed by "Video News Agency" that "the winter agricultural plan was discussed with the parliamentary finance committee, which is scheduled for a vote today in the Cabinet, in addition to examining the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and the issues it faces." He added that "the finance committee confirmed its support for the Ministry of Agriculture, which contributes to developing its work and advancing the agricultural sector," noting that "the issue of encroachments on agricultural land in several provinces and the outskirts of Baghdad was also discussed." He continued that "the meeting covered farmers' dues, and it was agreed to pay them in installments of 500 billion dinars for each batch until all dues are completed." Al-Shammari pointed out that "the Minister of Finance was present during the discussions and confirmed the commitment to pay farmers' rights gradually, at a rate of 500 billion dinars for each batch until all dues are settled."
