The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities for Cultural Affairs, Fadl Al-Badri, announced today, Thursday, the continuation of the ministry's preparations for the 27th Baghdad International Book Fair, which will take place from September 2 to 12.
Al-Badri stated in a statement that the fair is organized under the supervision and direction of the Minister of Culture, Sarwa Abdul Wahid, to re-manage and shape the cultural scene and create a culture worthy of Iraq, the home of the first script.
He added that the fair will be held in cooperation with the Sada Al-Aref Company, with the participation of more than 600 publishing houses from 23 countries, and will feature a variety of cultural activities, hosting cultural figures and stars, as well as several ministers to present their ministries' plans, in addition to including various titles from children's and family books to scientific, literary, and religious studies and books.
