The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity confirmed today, Thursday, that the national system has witnessed a relative improvement in supply hours, indicating that this improvement came as a result of several factors.
The ministry's spokesperson, Ahmed Al-Turki, said in a press statement that "the factors that helped improve electricity include the enhancement of fuel supplies, whether through an increase in the quantities of Iranian gas, or the resumption of part of the gas supplies from the fields in the Kurdistan region."
Al-Turki pointed out that "the entry of the electrical interconnection line with Turkey into service, along with the technical efforts made by the Ministry of Electricity staff to enhance the readiness of generating units, contributed to this improvement."
He added that "the combination of these factors has contributed to strengthening the stability of the electrical system and improving the level of supply, as the total electricity production has exceeded 24,500 megawatts."
