A former member of the Foreign Relations Committee of Parliament, Razaq al-Haidari, ruled out the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, describing the withdrawal as a "lie," noting that the United States views Iraq as a strategic location for its forces and it is unlikely to move towards withdrawing these forces.
Al-Haidari said in a press statement reviewed by "Video News Agency" that "the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq is just a lie, as former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi denied the presence of any foreign or American forces in Iraq during his tenure, but at that time he acknowledged the presence of experts at the request and invocation of the government, while the American side confirmed the presence of more than 2,500 fighters on Iraqi soil."
He added that "Iraq does not need 2,500 foreign military advisors or experts, as American forces are present on Iraqi soil and will not leave, especially since the United States considers Iraqi land a strategic location for it."
He explained that "Iraq's location in the center of the region makes it a strategic hub for the American side, especially since the United States has future plans for military presence in various countries around the world, which confirms the American forces' non-withdrawal from Iraqi territory."
