The leader of the Shiite National Current, Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr, confirmed today, Sunday, his anticipation with great joy and happiness for the date of the withdrawal of American and international coalition forces from Iraq, which is set for the thirtieth of September this year, emphasizing the necessity for the American side to respond to the national decision.
Mr. Sadr stated in a post on X platform that the hope remains that this withdrawal will not mark the beginning of external interventions that undermine Iraq's sovereignty, independence, and dignity, warning all neighboring and non-neighboring countries against the consequences of such interventions while firmly rejecting them from any country whatsoever.
He added that Iraqi politicians should not repeat their erroneous request for American intervention again, confirming that Iraq is capable of protecting itself through its heroic security forces, especially the border protectors and air forces, exclusively through the central government and without internal sectarian or ethnic conflicts.
Mr. Sadr affirmed that the date of withdrawal will be the beginning of Iraq's prosperity and the end of all corruption, injustice, dictatorship, occupation, and terrorism, especially with the strengthening of security entities under the central command of the armed forces, extending greetings to the Iraqi people from all its sects, ethnicities, and components and confirming the continuation of work to serve them and resist occupation, terrorism, and corruption without external support.
