The spokesperson for the Iraqi government, Haider Al-Aboudi, confirmed that September 30 represents a sovereign entitlement that establishes the transition of Iraq's relationship with the countries of the international coalition to bilateral relations based on mutual respect for sovereignty and interests. He indicated that the government is moving forward to complete the military mission of the coalition according to the agreed timelines and mechanisms, stressing that the Day of Sovereignty establishes the full authority of the state and unifies the security decision.
Al-Aboudi stated in a press interview that was reviewed by the "Video News Agency" that "the date of September 30 represents a sovereign entitlement for the Iraqi state based on agreements and official commitments, and the government is relying on a clear path and methodology regarding the mechanisms and procedures to complete it, treating it as a national constant that establishes the transition of the relationship with the countries of the international coalition to bilateral relations based on respect for Iraq's sovereignty and achieving mutual interests."
He added, "In this context, Iraq possesses its tools and constitutional, political, and diplomatic papers, in addition to its ability to manage its national security through its institutions and armed forces. The government continues to complete the military mission of the coalition according to the agreed timelines and mechanisms, and there will be no change to this course that is outside the will of the Iraqi state."
He pointed out that "the Prime Minister has placed - since assuming the responsibility of the government - the sovereignty of the Iraqi state at the forefront of his executive priorities, declaring the Day of Sovereignty as a transition for Iraq to a new phase characterized by the sovereignty of the state and its full authority over its territory, unifying the security decision and limiting the tools of power to its constitutional and legal institutions. Thus, September 30 represents a national day that embodies the achievement of sovereignty as an entitlement for the state and all Iraqis."
Al-Aboudi affirmed that "based on the close link between sovereignty, stability, and trust in state institutions, the Iraqi government is working to cement these foundations to establish a secure investment environment and enhance Iraq's ability to attract companies and capital and to establish balanced and productive partnerships in line with the state's priorities and the requirements of its supreme national interests."
