On charges of embezzlement, Integrity apprehends suspects in Najaf Electricity.

The Integrity Commission announced the arrest of two suspects working in the Najaf Electricity Distribution Department, on charges of collecting money from citizens in violation of the law, and using a forged stamp to lend an official character to the collection operations. A statement from the Integrity Commission indicated that a team from the Najaf Investigative Office managed, after investigation and inquiry, to apprehend an employee in the electricity distribution department who had collected monetary amounts from citizens without transferring the collected funds to the department's accounts. It added that the suspect used a forged stamp to mislead citizens about the legality of the collection, indicating that investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect working as a collector in the department, who provided the first suspect with the collection receipts used to obtain the funds. It noted that an official seizure report was organized in the operation, which was carried out under the provisions of Article (315) of the Penal Code, and presented before the judiciary, which decided to detain them pending investigation.
