Atletico extended their lead six minutes later when Jonathan David scored the second goal in the 59th minute, benefiting from a pass by Giuliano Simeone.

Real Madrid tried to make a comeback, and Antonio Rüdiger managed to reduce the deficit with a goal in the 89th minute, but Atletico maintained their lead until the final whistle.
