Russia: Europe has transferred 8 billion euros from the revenues of our frozen assets to Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the European Union has transferred to Ukraine since 2024 about 8 billion euros from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets.

Vladislav Maslenikov, the Director of the European Affairs Department at the ministry, stated that “since 2024, the European Union has been seizing profits generated from the illegal reinvestment of frozen Russian central bank reserves on the Euroclear platform in Belgium.”

Maslenikov added: “During this period, the total amount of revenues transferred to Ukraine reached 8 billion euros, of which more than 3.5 billion euros is directly allocated for purchasing weapons.”

The European Union has frozen more than 210 billion euros of Russian central bank assets, and Moscow has repeatedly described the freezing of these assets in Europe as illegal.
