A coalition of 80 countries at the United Nations called today, Thursday, for the full restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

During the reading of a joint statement before journalists at the United Nations, Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani demanded "guarantees for the safe passage of ships without fees and that Iran's actions in the Strait of Hormuz threaten security and navigation."

He affirmed: "We reaffirm our call for the urgent and complete reopening of the Strait of Hormuz."
