Iraq declares its readiness to host the Foreign Ministers of Islamic countries in Baghdad.

Today, Thursday, Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein delivered Iraq's speech at the annual ministerial coordination meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, in the presence of Secretary-General Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.

The Foreign Ministry stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that Fouad Hussein congratulated the Secretary-General of the organization on taking up his duties, affirming Iraq’s support for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its commitment to enhancing its role in consolidating Islamic solidarity and supporting Islamic issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and the Holy Jerusalem.

The Foreign Minister indicated in his speech Iraq's readiness to host the fifty-second session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the organization, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on October 17 and 18, next month, confirming the readiness of logistical and security preparations to receive the participating delegations.
