An Iranian wins the gold medal in the kurash competitions at the Asian Games.

Iranian athlete Majid Vahid Barimanlou won the gold medal in the under 66 kg weight category in men's kurash at the Asian Games held in Nagoya, Japan.

In the under 66 kg weight category for men during the kurash competition at the Asian Games "Aichi - Nagoya 2026", Iranian athlete Barimanlou succeeded in reaching the semifinals after defeating his opponents from Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan, thus securing a bronze medal. In the semifinals, the outstanding representative of Iran overcame his Kyrgyz counterpart "Kubanichbek Aipak Ulu" to secure a spot in the final match.

In the final bout, Barimanlou triumphed over his Tajik opponent "Yasin Bobokulanov," earning the only gold medal for Iran in kurash and the ninth gold medal for the Iranian sporting delegation in these Games.

With this result, the Iranian kurash team (consisting of 6 players) concluded its participation in the Asian Games with a total of one gold medal, one silver medal, and one bronze medal.
