The health authorities in the state of Pennsylvania, USA, announced the registration of 903 confirmed cases of measles and 4 deaths since the beginning of the year.

The Health Department stated in a statement reviewed by "Video News Agency" that "the cases were recorded in 39 counties, with 176 patients needing hospitalization for treatment."

It added that "13 new cases were recorded between September 25 and 28 of this year, indicating the continued spread of the disease."

The authorities pointed out that "the vast majority of those infected had not been vaccinated, reiterating the importance of vaccination to prevent measles and reduce its spread."
