The Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq movement confirmed today, Wednesday, that the complete withdrawal of American forces from the country marks a historical milestone in Iraq’s journey, noting that this achievement is the result of a long political process supported by the sacrifices and positions of the Iraqi resistance, which played the most significant role in ending the presence of foreign forces.
In a statement received by the "News Video Agency," the movement said, "On September 30, Iraq stands before a historical milestone with the completion of the withdrawal of American forces from its land, after more than two decades of American military presence that began with the invasion of Iraq in 2003."
It added, "If this day is the fruit of a long political path, behind it are the sacrifices and Iraqi resistance that pushed towards ending foreign military presence, which is the most prominent role in ending this occupation."
It pointed out that "Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq had a prominent presence in this path, both militarily and politically. It confronted American forces at various stages, supported by its positions and political discourse calling for the end of the American military presence and the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq, and both enemies and friends witnessed that."
It continued, "The path of Iraq towards restoring its sovereignty has been a long journey, intertwined with political positions, government decisions, and the sacrifices made by Iraqis in facing the challenges their country has encountered."
It indicated that "on this occasion, we remember Iraq’s martyrs and everyone who stood against the occupation, especially the men of the Iraqi Islamic resistance who carried the banner of confronting foreign forces. We recall their sacrifices and positions in the quest for sovereignty and independence," emphasizing "the importance and necessity of continuing the sincere efforts exerted by the Iraqi government to end the presence of all foreign military forces and groups, foremost among them the Turkish forces that occupied several areas in northern Iraq and still remain there without any legitimate or legal justification."
The Saraya al-Salam movement emphasized "the necessity of preserving the sovereignty of Iraqi airspace from violations and breaches, and protecting it by providing modern air defense systems that our armed forces sadly lack."
It called for "achieving sovereignty integration by freeing Iraqi funds from the oil exports controlled by the management of the American administration through the Federal Reserve, and striving to overcome all made-up justifications and excuses."
It noted that "with the closure of the chapter of American military presence in Iraq, a new responsibility begins for Iraqis: to establish sovereignty, protect national decision-making, and build a strong, safe, and independent Iraq," stressing that "on this important occasion, we ask our proud Iraqi people to express their joy and happiness about this significant event through celebrations in the streets, homes, and public squares, and to raise the Iraqi flag as a symbol of our joy and pride in this great achievement."
The movement praised "the blessed step taken by the Council of Ministers, headed by Ali al-Zaydi, in ratifying the Popular Mobilization Law and sending it to the House of Representatives for approval."
The movement concluded its statement by "praying for the martyrs of Iraq and invoking lasting security, dignity, and independence for the land of the two rivers."
