The Parliamentary Finance Committee reassured today, Tuesday, about securing employee salaries, confirming that there is a reserve at the Central Bank that can be relied upon in case of a financial deficit, while indicating an improvement in the economic situation and the continued high levels of oil exports.
Committee member Ikhlas Al-Dulaimi stated in a comment followed by the News Video Agency that the intensive meetings of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zeidi in New York could contribute to achieving a breakthrough in some financial issues, referring to developments regarding the passage of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
Al-Dulaimi confirmed that employee salaries are secured, and that the reserve available at the Central Bank provides the possibility to finance any potential deficit, noting that indicators of oil sales have started to show improvement.
She added that the companies responsible for oil exports bear the responsibilities and risks of the export operations, in exchange for deducting amounts from the value of the barrel ranging between $15 and $30, depending on the risks and costs associated with the export.
