Emirates Group announced today, Thursday, a 66% decrease in its profits during the first half of its current financial year, compared to the same period last year, affected by tensions and the war in the Middle East and rising aircraft fuel costs.
The group stated that its profits before tax amounted to approximately 4.1 billion Emirati dirhams, equivalent to nearly 1.1 billion US dollars, during the first six months of the current financial year.
It pointed out that security and military developments in the region, along with increased fuel expenses, have overshadowed its financial results, amidst the challenges facing the aviation sector at the regional level.
