Eight Arab and Islamic countries expressed their condemnation and denunciation - in the strongest terms - of the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, particularly the targeting of health facilities and infrastructure, and the continued loss of civilian lives, including women and children, which the concerned countries described as a grave violation of international law, including international humanitarian law.
The Foreign Ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt confirmed that the continuation of these violations represents a clear breach of Israel's obligations under international law and the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, undermining international and regional efforts aimed at implementing the second phase of the plan.
A statement issued by the ministers noted that these violations come in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of acceptance by the Palestinian factions of the roadmap, including regarding the control of arms, and that they threaten to derail the political process, exacerbate the cycle of escalation, and deepen the humanitarian catastrophe witnessed in the Gaza Strip.
The ministers emphasized that the protection of civilians, the safeguarding of medical facilities and workers in the health and humanitarian sectors, and ensuring the immediate, safe, and unhindered access of humanitarian and medical supplies throughout the Gaza Strip represent legal obligations that must not be breached or diminished under any circumstances.
They affirmed that the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip cannot be viewed in isolation from the attacks committed by settlers in the occupied West Bank, the illegal settlement expansion, and the unilateral measures aimed at changing the status quo in occupied Jerusalem.
