Joint discussions between Erbil and Washington to confirm the protection of the region's security and increase oil production.

Today, Monday, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, discussed strengthening the bonds of friendship, the outstanding relationships, and the existing partnership between the region and the United States with the Acting Ambassador of the U.S. to Iraq, Stephen Fagin, as well as the general conditions in Iraq and the region.

The regional government stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that both sides condemned the attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region and emphasized the importance of safeguarding the security and stability of the region.

The statement confirmed the alignment of visions regarding the importance of increasing oil production in the Kurdistan Region and enhancing the level of cooperation and coordination between the region and the federal government in order to improve the financial situation and maximize Iraq's public revenues, within the framework of activating trade movement and safeguarding the constitutional rights and financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region.

Both parties stressed the need to activate the Kurdistan Parliament and form the new regional government cabinet.
