The Nineveh Governorate recorded a new confirmed case of hemorrhagic fever today, Monday, involving a 19-year-old young man from the Al-Qayyarah area south of Mosul, according to a medical source in the province's health department.
The source stated that the young man was admitted to Al-Qayyarah General Hospital on September 9th after showing symptoms suspected to be related to hemorrhagic fever, where blood samples were taken and sent the following day to the Central Public Health Laboratory in Baghdad for necessary testing and confirmation of the infection.
He added that laboratory test results confirmed that the sample was positive, proving the young man's infection with hemorrhagic fever.
The source explained that following the confirmation of the infection, the patient was transferred and referred to the Al-Shifa Hospital for Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Mosul to receive medical care and undergo the approved treatment protocol, as well as being placed under strict health monitoring.
This infection comes amidst ongoing health and preventive measures to monitor suspected cases and limit the spread of hemorrhagic fever, particularly in areas witnessing livestock farming and direct contact with animals.
