The official Saudi Press Agency reported in a statement followed by the news agency that the two sides discussed the latest developments in the region during this meeting, without providing specific details. This meeting comes amid Axios's report that the Saudi Crown Prince made two calls to the U.S. President on Thursday, asking him to attack Yemen, according to American officials. It was reported that Trump, rejecting the Crown Prince's request, said that Washington currently has no plans for intervention in Yemen. Riyadh's request for assistance from Washington comes after Saudi-affiliated militias delivered 5,400 square kilometers of areas under their control, including control over Bab al-Mandab, to the Yemeni army and the Houthi Ansar Allah.
