The Minister of Health directed today, Monday, to include six categories in health insurance services for free, including those covered by social welfare, divorced women, widows, and the families of martyrs, which includes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as part of the ministry's approach to expand the benefit from insurance services and relieve the financial burdens on citizens.
The minister confirmed in a statement received by the News Video Agency that the importance of providing health services to those covered under the approved controls is paramount, and ensuring that targeted categories receive medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic services at no cost enhances the goals of the health insurance system and raises the level of care provided to citizens.
This directive comes as part of the Health Ministry's steps aimed at gradually expanding the health insurance umbrella and strengthening health and social protection for the most vulnerable groups, which contributes to improving access to medical services and reducing the costs borne by patients.
The minister also emphasized the necessity of following up on the implementation of the inclusion procedures and coordinating among the relevant health authorities to ensure the smooth provision of services to beneficiaries and the actual benefit from health insurance advantages.
