Prime Minister: An upcoming international energy conference in Baghdad to enhance Iraqi investments.

The Prime Minister, Ali Faleh Al-Zeidi, confirmed today, Monday, to the President of TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanné, that preparations are underway for an international energy conference in Baghdad.
The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zeidi received at his residence in the French capital Paris, the President of TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanné, accompanied by his delegation, and during the meeting, they reviewed the strategic projects being implemented by the company in Iraq, especially in the field of gas."
The Prime Minister indicated, according to the statement, the "government's plans prepared for expanding the investment in associated gas to achieve self-sufficiency, as well as plans to increase oil production in the coming five years, enabling Iraq to reach a production level of 10 million barrels per day."
The Prime Minister confirmed "the initiation of expanded oil exploration in Iraq, which enhances national economic growth and supports development plans, indicating that preparations are underway for holding an international energy conference in Baghdad."
For his part, Pouyanné confirmed "the company's readiness to cooperate with Iraq in the fields of oil and energy," noting that "the company has significant oil investments in Iraq amounting to 12 billion dollars, with plans to increase them in the future to reach 16 billion dollars."
