The British Green Party, the second largest political party in the country, announced today, Sunday, its adoption of a draft law that it will present to the British Parliament, demanding the cancellation of recognition of Israel as a state.
According to what was reported by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth and reviewed by the "News Video Agency," the party adopted the draft law during its public meeting today, which will be submitted to the House of Commons and includes the cancellation of official recognition of the Israeli entity as a state.
It continued that "the party also adopted a clause within the draft law that declares the Zionist movement as a racist movement hostile to British values and principles," adding, "According to the text of the draft law, the Zionist movement's demand to establish a racial state for Jews represents a racist approach that contradicts the policies of the United Kingdom."
The newspaper pointed out that the Green Party has become the first major party in Europe to take a position that "officially calls for the destruction of the state of Israel and is hostile to the Zionist movement," as described.
