The parliamentary finance committee decided today, Sunday, to host Finance Minister Faleh Sari to discuss the priorities of the federal budget law for 2027 and the timing of its submission to the House of Representatives, expressing its disappointment with the minister for not communicating with the committee and updating it on the provisions and draft of the law.

Member of the parliamentary finance committee, Basem Al-Gharabi, said in a press statement seen by "Video News Agency" that "the parliamentary finance committee met today and decided to host the Finance Minister to discuss the priorities of the federal budget law for the year 2027 and when to send it to the House of Representatives".

He added that there is "disappointment with the Finance Minister for not communicating with the parliamentary finance committee and updating the parliamentary committee on the provisions and draft of the budget law", emphasizing: "We are one team, and we should work together to approve the budget law".

Al-Gharabi indicated that the date for hosting the Finance Minister in the committee "will be set as soon as possible", in order to review the size of the budget and the oil and non-oil revenues, as well as the size of operational, general, and investment expenses.

For his part, MP Ahmed Al-Saadi from the Hikma parliamentary bloc said in a press statement seen by "Video News Agency" that "today I met with the Finance Minister to inquire about the general budget law for the year 2027", noting that the budget "contains clear goals and a new quality that differs from previous budgets".

Al-Saadi added that the Finance Minister informed them today "officially including in the budget law 100,000 job degrees for contracting, most of which will go to old graduates".

He clarified that "the 100,000 job degrees will be distributed to all Iraqi provinces according to the population ratio of each province", pointing out that "all contracts in all ministries and state departments will be confirmed in the budget law".
