Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed today, Monday, with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq the ongoing preparations for holding meetings of the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee and the Arab-Russian Dialogue Forum at the end of next December, on the occasion of the conclusion of his duties as Ambassador of his country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement received by the news agency that Minister Fouad Hussein welcomed the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Iraq on the occasion of the conclusion of his duties as Ambassador of his country at the ministry's headquarters in Baghdad.

The Russian ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Iraqi government and people for the warm hospitality and cooperation he has received throughout his five-year tenure, confirming that Iraq holds a special place for him and that his period of service allowed him to visit most of the provinces and get to know the Iraqi community closely.

For his part, the minister praised the efforts made by the ambassador during his tenure and his role in enhancing communication, cooperation, and developing bilateral relations, noting that the minister received an invitation to participate in the Arab-Russian Dialogue Forum and both sides emphasized their commitment to continue following up on bilateral issues and coordinating regarding them, with the minister wishing the ambassador success in his future duties and emphasizing Iraq's commitment to continuing to develop its relations with Russia.
