A high-level negotiating delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government is heading to Baghdad tomorrow, Wednesday, to discuss and finalize the obligations, rights, and financial entitlements of the region within the federal budget for 2027.
The media and information office of the regional government stated in a statement received by "Video News Agency" that "the delegation includes officials from the Prime Minister's office, the Ministries of Finance and Natural Resources, as well as a representative from the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs."
It added that "the delegation will hold meetings with the federal Ministry of Finance to discuss financial and oil obligations and the rights of the region, in addition to salaries of employees, Peshmerga forces, security forces, retirees, and those covered by social protection, as well as operational and investment expenses and other entitlements."
The regional government confirmed that "its delegation will demand the clear and legal establishment of Kurdistan's entitlements within the 2027 budget, and the establishment of a fixed mechanism to ensure their disbursement, while emphasizing that salaries and essential entitlements should not be subject to actual expenditure criteria or any constraints that could lead to delays or reductions."
