Iraq ranked seventieth globally in the property price-to-income ratio index, with a score of 10.1 points, according to the "Numbeo" classification for mid-2026, which included 108 countries.

According to the site's data, which "Video News Agency" reviewed, Egypt recorded the highest ratio among the Arab countries included in the ranking, at 18.3 points, followed by Lebanon at 16.9, Algeria at 15 points, Morocco at 13.6 points, Tunisia at 12.8 points, while Jordan recorded 6.7 points, Kuwait 6.1 points, Bahrain 5 points, Saudi Arabia 4.7 points, Qatar 4.5 points, and Oman 3.8 points.

Globally, Nigeria topped the list with a score of 116.3 points, followed by Sri Lanka at 55.4 points, and then Ghana at 49 points. Hong Kong recorded 35.2 points, the Philippines 34.5 points, and Vietnam 32.7 points.

In contrast, the United States recorded the lowest ratio among the countries included in the ranking, at 3.4 points, followed by South Africa at 3.1 points.

The property price-to-income ratio index is used to measure the relationship between housing prices and the income levels of the population, with a higher ratio generally indicating that purchasing property requires a larger income compared to its prices, reflecting a lower affordability for home purchases.
