Iran announces agreements with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced on Wednesday that regional countries have agreed for Iran and Oman to reach a mutual understanding regarding the regulation of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Gharibabadi stated in a press interview that I accessed through "Vido News Agency," that the memorandum of understanding included guiding principles, pointing out that the final outcome depended on ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Muscat to organize the transit movement.

The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister clarified that according to the understanding, the closure of the two temporary northern and southern lanes would be implemented, noting that the new lane is designed for commercial vessels to transit whether on the entry route or in parts of the exit route through the territorial waters of Iran.

Gharibabadi continued that the new lane in the Strait of Hormuz is considered temporary, but it may remain in effect for a period ranging from two to four months or more, depending on the developments and negotiations.
