The head of the Executive Body of the Communications and Media Commission, Baligh Abu Kallal, discussed today, Tuesday, with Christoph Michels, the Executive Director of the Iraqi British Business Council (IBBC), and the accompanying delegation, opportunities for collaboration in the fields of media, communications, technology, and developing a regulatory environment that supports investment.
The Communications and Media Commission stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that the meeting addressed ways to benefit from the experiences of media production companies and the artistic and entertainment industry, as well as global technology and legal companies, to develop organized sectors and open new areas for partnership and investment in the Iraqi market. It also highlighted the commission's efforts to protect intellectual property rights and reduce pirated content, providing a safe environment that encourages capital to enter the country.
Abu Kallal emphasized that the importance of regulations is linked to the extent of their activation and field application. He directed the publication of the intellectual property rights regulations and the sending of a translated English copy to the council, stressing the importance of quality approvals to organize the market for devices and equipment, protect users, and enhance digital sovereignty, while both sides agreed to continue communication and exchange experiences to develop joint initiatives in the upcoming phase.
