The Prime Minister, Ali Faleh al-Zaydi, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the relationship between Iraq and Germany is exceptional, pointing out that Iraq sees Germany as a reliable partner.

Al-Zaydi stated in a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, which was followed by the Video News Agency, that Iraq has many resources and needs German expertise, asserting that Germany represents a meeting point and solution in global disputes, and that the country is far from aggressive politics.

The Prime Minister explained that Iraq's vision is based on expanding oil export sources and opening up to Europe and the United States, reiterating the welcome of German companies to operate in Iraq because Germany has left no negative impact in the country, while mentioning the issue of German prisoners that this matter is subject to judicial decision.

He pointed out that "investigations regarding the targeting of Saudi Arabia are ongoing and results are being analyzed," emphasizing that "Iraq cannot remain a hostage to a single route for oil export."
