The value of Brent crude oil futures for November delivery on the London "ICE" exchange rose by more than 3.5%, trading above $109 per barrel, according to trading data.
Brent accelerated its growth to $109.39 per barrel (+3.51%). Meanwhile, the value of West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures for October increased by 5.29% to $106.75 per barrel.
This sharp rise in oil prices comes amid the ongoing disruption of the Saudi "East-West" pipeline for weeks, escalating tensions between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, and the postponement of scheduled talks between Iran and Gulf states in Oman, raising market concerns about the stability of global supplies.
Three sources told Reuters on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia has informed its European customers of the cancellation of some oil shipments scheduled to be loaded in late September.
