The oil ministry is discussing development plans for the Qayyara field and increasing its production with an Angolan company.

Baghdad – On Wednesday, the Deputy Minister of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Nasir Aziz Jabbar, discussed with officials from the Angolan company Sonangol, which invests in the Qayyarah field in Nineveh province, plans to develop the field and increase crude oil production rates.
The office of the Deputy Minister for Extraction Affairs stated in a statement received by the Al-Fadhel News Agency that Jabbar welcomed the company officials, in the presence of the acting director general of North Oil Company and several officials from relevant authorities.
The statement added that the meeting addressed plans to develop the Qayyarah field and enhance its oil production, in addition to discussing options for transporting the produced oil and mechanisms for its marketing and export, contributing to maximizing the benefits from the field's resources and supporting national production.
The two sides also discussed plans for the implementation of the integrated Qayyarah refinery project and the importance of the project in investing the field’s production and enhancing refining capacities in Nineveh province, as well as providing petroleum derivatives and supporting the province's needs.
The Ministry of Oil emphasized the importance of proceeding with oil field development projects and maximizing benefits from production, in line with its plans aimed at developing the oil sector and enhancing oil infrastructure in Nineveh province.
