Seven years in prison for Deputy Baha al-Nuri.

The Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Wednesday, the issuance of a judgment sentencing Member of Parliament Bahaa al-Din Nour Muhammad Hussein to seven years in prison, following his conviction for the crime of illicit gain and money laundering, with a requirement for him to return more than forty billion dinars representing the value of the embezzlement and the financial penalty imposed on him.

The commission stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a ruling of seven years in prison against the convicted Bahaa al-Din Nour Muhammad Hussein based on the provisions of Article 19, Second paragraph of the Commission Law and the amended financial embezzlement law.

It added that the court ordered the convicted to return the value of the illicit gain amounting to more than five billion eight hundred eighty million dinars, and about eleven million dollars, in addition to imposing a financial penalty equivalent to the value of the illicit gain.

It continued that the court issued another ruling of strict imprisonment for three years against the convicted for the crime of concealing information in the financial disclosure form, and decided to apply the harsher penalty against him along with the confirmation of the seizure of his movable and immovable assets.
