Ansar Allah, the Houthis: The total maritime traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb reached 408 commercial ships in 10 days.

The Houthi Ansar Allah revealed statistics detailing the number of ships that passed through the Bab al-Mandab Strait in the southern Red Sea in both the northern and southern directions, during the period from September 11 to 21, 2026.

The Saba news agency quoted a statistic issued by the Ministry of Transport, stating that "the total maritime traffic through the Bab al-Mandab Strait amounted to 408 commercial ships during the period from September 11 to 21 of this month."

The ministry clarified in a statement that "the traffic through the Bab al-Mandab Strait proceeded smoothly and safely for all international commercial ships, except for Saudi vessels."


The ministry's statement indicated that "over the past 10 days, 196 ships passed through the Bab al-Mandab heading north, and 212 ships headed south," adding that "the average number of commercial or cargo container ships passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait daily exceeds 40."

The ministry confirmed that international navigation and trade through the vital passage at Bab al-Mandab "are proceeding normally and safely."
