The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Bezazkian, criticized on Tuesday the prevailing perceptions among some European countries regarding Iran, emphasizing that they are inaccurate and do not reflect reality.

Masoud Bezazkian stated, according to a presidential statement received by the News Video Agency, that the people of Iran have always been peace-loving throughout history and have sought to achieve security and establish constructive relationships and healthy interactions with other countries. He pointed out that Denmark is among the countries with which Iran seeks to develop its relations and dealings during the ceremony of receiving the credentials of the new Danish ambassador, Christine Atzen.

He added that his country is ready to develop interactions and bilateral cooperation, welcoming all forms of partnership and exchange of experiences with various countries, including Denmark, in economic, scientific, and cultural fields, noting that enhancing cooperation in these areas paves the way for deepening relations and strengthening ties between the two countries.

Bezazkian addressed the Danish ambassador, expressing confidence that during his tenure in Tehran, he will closely observe the realities of Iranian society, culture, and civilization, and play an active role in correcting these impressions and conveying a more accurate and realistic image of Iran. He expressed hope for taking effective steps to establish and develop bilateral relations to enhance cooperation prospects in all areas.

For his part, the new Danish ambassador Christine Atzen expressed his satisfaction with starting his diplomatic mission in the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing admiration for the greatness of the ancient Iranian civilization and its unique history and culture.

Christine Atzen confirmed his responsibility to convey the realities of Iran to his country by providing a precise, realistic, and fair description, hoping to play an effective role in creating new opportunities to expand interactions and deepen relations between the two countries.

The Danish ambassador also noted his country's commitment to multilateralism and the rule of law in international relations, stressing his work to enhance mutual understanding and contribute to developing bilateral interactions.
