The French news agency reported, citing a diplomatic source, that the Yemeni "Ansar Allah" fired a missile that hit King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Saturday afternoon.
The source told a press statement obtained by the "News Video Agency" that "the Houthis are attacking targets at Riyadh Airport," adding that the incident occurred around three in the afternoon on Saturday.
The agency also reported from a medical source in a hospital in Riyadh that at least five people are being treated in intensive care on Saturday after being injured at King Khalid International Airport.
The source added that "dozens of people, mostly Saudis, were injured... there are at least five of the injured, all of whom are Saudis, in intensive care," noting that some of the wounded were transported to the hospital by helicopter.
Earlier, "France Presse" quoted three witnesses that evacuations were taking place at the airport around this time.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Airways announced today that it suspended its flights from and to the Saudi capital due to what it described as the "closure of Riyadh Airport" due to "security conditions."
Turkish Airlines also announced the cancellation of its flights to Riyadh following the attack on King Khalid International Airport.
Last Thursday, the airlines "Lufthansa Group" and "Air India" announced that they would suspend their flights to Riyadh, following renewed threats from the Iranian-aligned Houthi group against airlines, after it claimed responsibility for an attack targeting the Saudi capital's airport.
In addition, Western embassies in Saudi Arabia urged their citizens to stay away from Riyadh Airport.
