The head of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control conducted an extensive evening inspection tour in the markets of the holy province of Karbala, covering food stores, workshops, and goldsmith shops, in cooperation with the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime in the Ministry of Interior.
Dr. Engineer Fayyad Mohammed Abdul Duleimi stated in a statement received by the news agency that the aim of the tour was to ensure that markets comply with standard specifications and approved regulations, to examine the quality and suitability of food products, and to verify the integrity of gold jewelry and the compliance of goldsmiths with branding and hallmarking regulations, ensuring consumer protection and reducing fraud and manipulation.
The head of the organization emphasized that protecting citizens is a priority that cannot be compromised, stressing the necessity of taking the strictest legal actions against violators, and continuing joint inspection campaigns to regulate the markets and enhance the safety of goods traded, especially during the influx of visitors to the holy city of Karbala.
This tour is part of the ongoing regulatory program of the organization in Baghdad and the provinces, aimed at enhancing discipline in the markets and reinforcing trust in standard specifications and protecting citizens' rights.
