The transport department announces the activation of electronic payment in the buses of the University of Baghdad.

The Ministry of Transport announced on Monday the activation of an electronic payment system in the public transport buses within the Baghdad University campus, coinciding with the start of the new academic year. A statement from the ministry received by the news agency indicated that the General Company for Passengers and Delegates Transport, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Baghdad, has activated the electronic payment system using smart cards, in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Transport. The statement added that the cards are available for sale at the main gate of the university, noting that the system aims to facilitate the payment of transport fares, reduce cash transactions, and expedite the boarding procedures for passengers. The ministry emphasized that this step is part of the efforts to develop public transportation services and expand the use of smart payment systems, in line with digital transformation and to improve the level of services provided to students.
