Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed today, Monday, that there is no military solution to the region's issues, and they must be resolved through diplomatic means.
Araghchi stated at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart, followed by the News Video Agency, "I held a productive and important meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister, and our relationship with Moscow is strategic," noting that "we proposed a mechanism to enhance strategic, political, and economic relations with Russia."
He added, "We consult and cooperate continuously with Russia on international and regional issues," stressing that "there is no military solution to the region's issues; it must be done through diplomacy."
He pointed out that "economic cooperation with Russia is proceeding on a good path, and there are no obstacles to this cooperation," noting that "the aggression against Iran and the economic blockade are two main causes of insecurity in the region."
Araghchi highlighted, "I discussed with Lavrov the developments in Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, and Afghanistan," explaining that "the insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of American (Israeli) aggression."
