A responsible source in Anbar Province revealed today, Sunday, the circumstances surrounding the decision to suspend official work in the caravan schools in the province, coinciding with the visit of Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaydi, pointing out that there are questions regarding the justifications for the decision, amid the cessation of rainfall and the lack of recorded flood waves in most cities of the province.
The source stated in a statement followed by the Video News Agency, that "the decision by the General Director of Anbar Education, Nafi Hussein al-Dulaimi, to suspend official work today, Sunday, specifically in the caravan schools, came in coincidence with the Prime Minister's visit to the province, amid fears of raising the issue of caravan schools and schools under construction, which have not been completed for more than 10 years, despite the allocation of government funds and receiving aid from humanitarian organizations to complete them."
He added that "most of Anbar's cities did not witness flood waves due to the torrents and rains, which raises questions about the justifications on which the decision to suspend work was based, especially since the decision was limited to caravan schools alone."
The source indicated that there are fears that the accompanying delegation with the Prime Minister will be informed about the conditions of school buildings and the stalled projects, along with the delays in completing caravan schools, despite the governmental financial allocations and support provided by humanitarian organizations.
The source called for opening the files of stalled school projects, investigating the fate of the allocated funds for them, and revealing the reasons for their non-completion throughout the past years.
Note: The information regarding the motivations for the suspension decision and the fears of raising the issue of schools is attributed to the responsible source and is not presented as established facts.
