Member of Parliament Ahmed Al-Shammari revealed today, Sunday, that there is a parliamentary move to gather signatures and host the relevant parties regarding the preparation of the draft law for the Popular Mobilization Forces, to understand the reasons for the delay in sending it to the House of Representatives.
Al-Shammari said in a statement followed by the news video agency that the corridors of Parliament are witnessing wide activity supported by parliamentary signatures, aiming to host the officials responsible for drafting the law and to understand the reasons for the delay in its completion, in addition to demanding the government to send it to Parliament to proceed with its legislation processes.
He added that the parliamentary movement includes verifying information about the existence of American pressures and impositions regarding the formulation of the law, noting that these pressures, as he put it, aim to reduce the administrative, financial, and pension rights of the fighters of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
Al-Shammari affirmed that the rights of the fighters of the Popular Mobilization Forces, the wounded, and the families of martyrs must be preserved within the upcoming legislation, stressing that the House of Representatives will not pass any draft that does not guarantee these rights, according to his statement.
