Tehran reveals positive understandings with Muscat to ensure safe passage in Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqaei confirmed on Tuesday that negotiations between Iran and Oman to establish safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz are ongoing, noting that discussions are taking place at both the technical and political levels and are progressing positively.

Baqaei stated in a press statement reviewed by the News Video Agency that the negotiations focus on defining safe routes for the in-and-out passage of ships in Hormuz, explaining that both sides are conducting these negotiations as the neighboring countries of the strait.

He added that Iran is working with Oman to establish the necessary mechanisms for future arrangements to manage navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, indicating that the final results of the negotiations will be announced as soon as they are fully completed.

He continued: We are discussing with Oman safe routes in Hormuz that ensure the sovereign rights and national security of both of us.
