The Licensing Committee of the Iraqi Football Federation voted today, Wednesday, not to grant local licenses to three clubs participating in the Iraqi Premier League, due to their failure to meet the requirements for obtaining the license.
The media spokesperson for the Licensing Committee, Bilal Zaki, stated in a press interview reported by "Video News Agency" that "the clubs that have not resolved their licensing issue so far are Al-Student, Al-Joulan, and Diyala."
He added that "the committee granted the three clubs a final extension of 48 hours to submit their appeals and complete the necessary requirements to obtain the local license, or settle their financial obligations, including paying the fines due to the Iraqi Football Federation."
Zaki explained that "Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya was among the clubs that faced remarks regarding their licensing file; however, it succeeded in completing all financial and administrative requirements and submitted the official receipts, thus becoming legally compliant and obtaining the license."
He pointed out that "the clubs Al-Student, Al-Joulan, and Diyala are still required to finalize their files before the specified deadline, otherwise they will face the consequences according to the licensing regulations."
The Iraqi Premier League for the 2026-2027 season is scheduled to start on August 14 of this month, with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya facing Nawruz in the opening match, which will be held at the Nawruz Stadium.
