Mohammad Mokhber, advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, commented today, Friday, on the ban of Iranian flights by the United States.
Mokhber stated in a press interview reviewed by "Vido News Agency," that "if Iran cannot operate flights and obtain airport services, no country in the region will be able to do so either."
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi clarified that "restoring maritime safety in the region requires stopping destabilizing American actions and its economic terrorism."
It is noteworthy that countries, airports, and airlines rushed to reconsider their dealings with Iranian carriers for fear of being subjected to secondary sanctions from Washington, which led to the suspension and cancellation of several international flights, disrupting the Iranian air transport network.
These developments came after the new package of American sanctions came into effect, targeting the Iranian aviation sector comprehensively, including companies providing fuel, maintenance, ground handling, and ticket sales services for Iranian carriers.
The Iranian Civil Aviation Organization announced the suspension of Baghdad and Muscat airports, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, from receiving Iranian flights, starting at 12:00 AM local time (11:30 PM Baghdad time) on Tuesday.
