The Iraqi ambassador to the Islamic Republic, Yasser Abdul Zahra Al-Hajjaj, revealed today, Friday, the ongoing efforts and continuous endeavors to resume air travel between Iraq and Iran.
Al-Hajjaj stated in a statement reviewed by the News Video Agency that he discussed the issue of resuming air travel with the relevant authorities, given its significant importance and direct implications for both countries and their people.
Al-Hajjaj added that Iran hosts more than 100,000 Iraqi students studying there, as well as a large number of members of the Iraqi community, in addition to thousands who travel annually for medical treatment, pilgrimages, and business purposes.
He continued that the ongoing suspension of flights imposes significant burdens on students, patients, community members, and travelers, directly affecting the movement and communication between the two peoples.
The Iraqi ambassador clarified that coordination is ongoing with the competent authorities to reach suitable solutions that ensure the resumption of flights between Iraq and Iran as soon as possible.
