The Nineveh Court approves 25 identity documents for missing persons whose remains were found in mass graves.

The Presidency of the Nineveh Court of Appeals announced today, Friday, the validation of 25 identity documents for missing persons whose remains were found in several mass graves in the province.

The court stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the validation came after completing the legal and technical procedures and conducting genetic matching tests by the Forensic Medicine Department, which proved to be consistent with the missing persons' relatives.

It added that the identity document serves as an official proof of the victim's identity and death, and is the basis for completing the procedures related to issuing a death certificate and legal inheritance.

The court clarified that these procedures ensure all legal rights owed to the families of the martyrs in accordance with the law.
