Iranian rejection of Colombian accusations and condemnation of the decision to sever diplomatic relations.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry rejected today, Friday, the unfounded accusations made by the Colombian government against its territory and armed forces.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that making baseless accusations and announcing the severance of diplomatic relations, which have lasted for over half a century, contradicts the principle of mutual respect and goes against the interests of both peoples, noting that the decision is unjustified and was made under the influence of the Zionist entity and the United States.

It added that the Colombian government is under the influence of drug production and distribution cartels and is part of a network linked to drug-related terrorism, emphasizing that this does not absolve it of its international responsibility regarding the seizure of a shipment weighing 55 kilograms of pure Colombian cocaine in Tehran in mid-September, which revealed a network linked to influential individuals in Colombia.

It continued that cooperation from the relevant authorities in Colombia was expected instead of a hasty response to identify the key players involved in smuggling these shipments.
